Uppermoda's Top Food Spots in Rovinj, Croatia

Uppermoda's Top Food Spots in Rovinj, Croatia

April 21, 2018

Located on the west coast of Istra, Rovinj is without a doubt a stop that should be added to everyone’s itinerary. The St. Euphemia church stands out in almost every shot but below we cover off on the spots you should visit if there in the summer of 2018. Also, you'll find out how to get to that famous instagram spot!

Caffe Bar Riviera - Ul. Sv. Križa, 52210, Rovinj

Stocking the Filicori Zecchini brand of coffee, we gave this café a try as the location close to the water was just perfect. So was the coffee!!

Coffee in Rovinj

Creamy and tasty, we were not disappointed, and we came back here the next day to have a coffee and enjoy the view. We recommend this cafe to anyone who loves a good milk coffee and a view of the water. They also have different teas on offer alongside beer, wines and cocktails.

Tipico - 32, Ul. Grisia, 52210, Rovinj

If you want to enjoy a nice authentic meal in the heart of Rovinj, we would recommend Tipico. Upon entering, we were greeted by the owner Dario who we spent a great amount of time during the night talking to. We also asked for his recommendations and were so glad we did as they were spot on. We began our meal with a complimentary mezze plate of home-made smallgoods, cheese and toasty bread.

For the mains, we decided to share a fillet steak (biftek) on a bed of pasta (pljukanci) with cheese along with a baked mozzarella, honey, cherry tomatoes and pesto dish. These dishes were just amazing and made for some very happy diners.

To end it, we were offered a complimentary shot of Teranino, a grape based liqueur that is from grapes that grow in this region. A wonderful way to cap off a great meal. And they also cater for all tastes and have vegan and vegetarian options.

Sweet Corner San Tommaso – Obala Alda Rismonda

This cake and ice-cream shop works in conjunction with the café next door called just San Tommaso. There you can order coffees to go with your cake or use their seating area to eat your ice-cream. They have a variety of different cakes either side of the showcase of ice-cream flavours available.

Ice Cream

Our ice-cream picks were the mocha and biscotto flavours which were very nice. They also cater for vegans with some of their flavours. If you are not a fan of ice-cream, they have a fantastic range of cakes too. We had the biscotto and the lemon tart and they were very good.

 Rovinj Famous Instagram spot

Ul. Vladimira Švalbe

If you need the perfect Instagram post, this is the street to head to. There are 2 spots where the stairs lead you to the water and are perfect for the Instagram shot that you always wanted. There is a fashion store at the bottom of one of the stairways that is open during the day and has a chair and table to make the shot so much better.

Off the Beaten Path

Konoba Danijeli - Danijeli, 52444, Kringa

About a 30-minute drive outside of Rovinj is a great recommendation for an affordable restaurant with a great menu. Focusing on everything homemade, our bread was made by the neighbour who has been baking it for the restaurant for the last 12 years. The pasta was home-made as well and the meats were all from neighbouring villages in Istra. The ambience is great with plenty of outdoor seating or if you prefer to be indoors, the interior is clean with lots of wood and large windows for plenty of natural light.
