Who doesn't love Kiflice?
The best part about this recipe is that it is SO SIMPLE to make and has very little clean up required.
Thanks to our friends Kristina from KakesbyspecialK & Ruža for this delicious Almond Kiflice Recipe! I've followed their recipe which I have documented below.
Ingredients to make Croatian Almond Kiflice:
Makes approx. 25 cookies dependant on the size of your cookies (Uppermoda note: I actually made 34 so the quantity will vary depending on the size of kiflice you make.)
- 1 cup almond meal
- 2 cups sharp flour
- 250grams of unsalted room-temperature butter
- 1 egg
- 10g vanilla sugar
- 4tbsp caster sugar
- pinch of salt
How to make Croatian Almond Kiflice:
Step 1: Place all of the ingredients in a large bowl and kneed by hand until combined. Shape the dough into a ball.
Step 2: Take a small piece of dough, and using both hands, roll, and form into a “U” shape.
Step 3: Place the crescents onto parchment/baking paper on a baking tray and bake in the heated oven (170 degrees C) for 12-14 minutes or until the edges begin to turn golden (Uppermoda note: I didn't have baking paper available so I greaced the baking sheets which seemed to work out OK)
Step 4: Take out from the oven and let them cool slightly. While the kiflice are still warm, roll them carefully in caster sugar so that they are evenly coated. (Uppermoda note: I had a few break when rolling them so be sure to roll them carefully)
Step 5: Store them in an airtight container in a cool, dry place. These cookies will keep for several weeks and are perfect when served with a cup of tea or coffee.
Voila! That's It. Super Simple and delicious!
